We understand that planning a trip can be overwhelming, but we are committed to providing our guests with all the necessary information so that you can focus on having a wonderful time. Park Map
Our park map is your guide to navigating around our retreat. Whether you’re looking for a powered site close to the amenities block or a secluded cabin tucked away in the trees. Guests can quickly locate the pools for a refreshing swim, the bird feeding area to interact with our friendly wildlife, and the camp kitchen and amenities for their convenience. With the park map, guests can make the most of their stay with us and enjoy all our fantastic facilities.

Conditions of Entry
- As part of the condition of entry to Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat, guests are to abide by our park rules, terms and conditions and all park policies. These are available from reception or on our website at https://caniagorgeretreat.com.au/park-information/
- We reserve the right to evict any guest who fails to follow any of the terms & conditions, park policies or rules. Eviction from the park will result in forfeiture of all monies paid.
- All sites and cabins must be occupied by the person listed on the booking and their travelling party. Guests are not permitted to let or hire a cabin, campsite, tent or caravan to another person.
- Any person found to be damaging park property or that of other guests will be evicted from the park and will be held responsible for any repair costs.
- Any person found to be harming any wildlife, or any part of the natural environment of the caravan park or Cania Gorge National Park will be reported to the Police and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and evicted from the park.
- We exclusively provide tourist accommodation and only accept bookings from guests whose stay is for holiday purposes only.
Minimum Length of Stay
- Minimum length of stay conditions apply and may vary by season.
- Minimum length of stay requirements for online bookings may differ from bookings made directly with our park office.
Maximum Length of Stay
- The maximum length of stay is 42 nights.
- Requests for an extension of stay may be made with the park office.
Pets
- We welcome your furry friends. Guests must follow our pet policy which is available from reception or on our website at https://caniagorgeretreat.com.au/park-information/
Payments
- Powered and unpowered site reservations require payment of a deposit of the first night’s fee at the time of booking. The balance of the site fees is payable upon check-in.
- Cabin bookings require payment in full at the time of booking.
- For all Easter school holiday bookings, full payment is required by 1st March.
- For all Christmas school holiday bookings, full payment is required by 1st December.
- For all other periods, the balance of fees is payable upon check-in.
- For online bookings; payment in full is required at the time of booking.
Persons Under 18
- All bookings, including online, must be made by a person over the age of 18, who must also be a person utilising the accommodation.
- Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to make an online reservation. We reserve the right to cancel any of these types of reservations.
Fees
- All fees quoted on this site are for 2 persons
- Extra adults (16 and over) are $20 per person per night and children (4-15) are $12.50 per child per night
- Extra vehicles – Guests are allowed to have one vehicle per site or cabin. Extra vehicles (including trailers, boats, etc.) will be allowed at the parks discretion and prior approval. Approval will be subject to availability and may incur an additional surcharge.
- Extra vehicle fee is $15 per day in Peak seasons and $10 per day in Mid and Low seasons.
- Peak season periods include (but are not limited to) Christmas, Easter, Queensland school holidays, long weekends and special events.
Cabin and Site Capacity
- Cabins – Extra persons allowed are restricted due to maximum cabin occupancy for each cabin type
- Sites – Maximum persons per site is 6
Check In / Check Out
- Guests must present a valid government-issued photo ID at check-in and provide their vehicle’s registration number.
- Office hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 2pm Sunday.
- Christmas Day office hours are 9am to 11am.
- Arrival after hours may be accepted up to 9pm (excluding Christmas Day and Easter Sunday) if prior arrangement is made with reception during office hours.

- Late check out is 4pm subject to availability and incurs a fee of 50% of the nightly rate
Discounts / Special Offers
- Where a guest has made a reservation under a special offer or discount, no further offers or discounts will be applied to that reservation.
- Please view details of special offers on our website or contact our friendly staff about terms and conditions applicable only to the special offer (including balance of payment due dates and refunds/cancellation policy).
Refunds
- All refunds are subject to our refund policy which is available from reception or on our website at https://caniagorgeretreat.com.au/park-information/
Refund Policy
Refunds of deposits and fees paid are only available from Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat under the following circumstances.
Premium Booking Periods
- School holidays, public holidays, long weekends and special events
- Cancellations providing more than 28 days’ notice are fully refundable less a $30 administration fee.
- Cancellations made within 28 days of scheduled arrival will forfeit all money paid.
Low Booking Periods
- Cancellations providing more than 28 days’ notice are fully refundable less a $30 administration fee.
- Cancellations made within 4 to 28 days of scheduled arrival will be entitled to a credit for a future stay. The credit given will be valid for up to 12 months.
- Cancellations made within 72 hours of scheduled arrival will forfeit all money paid.
Minimum Booking Periods
- Bookings made subject to minimum night booking conditions cannot be reduced, but can be cancelled and the above conditions apply.
No Shows & Early Departures
- Guests who depart earlier than their original departure date will have the above conditions applied. No-shows forfeit all fees paid.
- If after arrival guests are dissatisfied with any aspect of their accommodation and decide to terminate their stay, the amount refunded, if any, will be at the discretion of the park.
- We reserve the right to cancel bookings for “No Shows”.
Special Circumstances
- Where a change of dates is required due to travel restrictions or lockdowns (as per Australian State and Territory Health advice obtained on the relevant government websites), we will gladly refund or provide a credit for a future stay.
Change of Mind
- Refunds will only be given if the above conditions are met, refunds will not be given if you simply change your mind, your circumstances change or you choose the wrong accommodation.
- Discretion to waive the cancellation and administration fees where special circumstances warrant it may be given at the park management’s sole discretion. Guest to apply in writing via email at enquiries@caniagorgeretreat.com.au.
Eviction
- We reserve the right to evict any guest who fails to follow any of the terms & conditions, park policies or rules. Eviction from the park will result in forfeiture of all monies paid.

Pet Policy
We welcome your furry friends to our retreat, but there are a few simple rules. To ensure that you, your pet and the rest of our Park guests enjoy their stay in a clean and healthy environment we ask you to follow the rules below.
Service Animals
- Service animals with appropriate certification and identification accompanying guests with special needs are always welcome and accepted in all areas of our park.
Accommodation
- Guests traveling with pets must advise the park at the time of booking.
- Pets are only permitted with guests staying on our powered or unpowered site accommodation.
- Cabin bookings with pets will not be accepted.
- A maximum of two pets per site is permitted.
- Pets must comply with local legislation requirements.
- Pets must be up-to-date on all vaccinations. Proof of vaccinations will be required at the time of check-in.
Communal Areas
- Pets are not permitted in any part of the park not designated as a pet zone.
- Pets are not permitted in communal areas, including but not limited to cabins, amenity blocks, camp kitchen, office buildings, bird feeding area or pools.
Pet Etiquette
- Pets must be well-mannered and appropriately restrained by the guest at all times.
- It is not OK to allow your pet to be unrestrained in the park, while we know they are friendly and “just saying hello” we must be always mindful that other guests may have phobias, past traumas or allergies that may be triggered by your unrestrained pet.
- An off-leash pet area is provided within the park to allow time for your pet to roam free within the designated area.
- Pets may only be left unattended for short periods when the owner is using a facility where dogs are not permitted. Pets must remain secure and not cause a disturbance.
- Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets on park property and in the surrounding areas.
- Any disturbances such as barking must be curtailed to ensure other guests are not inconvenienced. You may be asked to leave if the noise continues.
- Guests are responsible for all property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pets.
- The park reserves the right to charge the guest’s account commensurate to the cost of any such damages.
- If your pet acts in any way considered aggressive, dangerous or destructive, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and to ask guests to leave the park, in which case they will not be entitled to any refund.
- Guest(s) and pet owner(s) agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat, its managers, their staff and owners from all liability, loss and damage suffered as a result of the guest’s pet. Furthermore, the guest(s) and pet owner(s) agree to solely accept all liability, financial or otherwise which may result in pet loss from disease, death, theft, fire, the running away of any pet or any other unavoidable circumstance.
How to Find Us
We are very easy to find. The retreat is only 24km north west of Monto. The roads are all bitumen to our park. Monto is an easy 6-hour drive north of Brisbane. We are approximately 2-3 hours inland from Bundaberg.
Take the Cania Gorge National Park highway turnoff, travel another 13km on the bitumen and you’ll find us on the left at the entrance of the national park.
